![]() For Immediate Release August 26, 2008 Contact Information Bernadette A. Morris (BPRW) The Audacity to Inspire (MIAMI –BLACK PR WIRE Newsroom) ( August 26, 2008) The 2008 Democratic National Convention, which began on Monday, August 25, 2008, will undoubtedly be recorded in the history books as the Convention of Change.
Among the presenters of the opening night’s fanfare, held in the Pepsi Convention Center in Denver, Colorado, were the movers and shakers of the world’s most powerful nation. Leaders of the pack, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the Powerhouse U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy, among others, all gathered together to provide inspiring words of wisdom to the thousands on hand and to millions via the airwaves. The riveting and eloquent comments from The Honorable Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. also helped to set the pace for the night. But the highlight of it all – on this opening celebration – was the graceful yet resounding words spoken by a woman that embraced, ignited and exploded the Audacity to Inspire in the hearts and minds of many – including and especially Black women - worldwide. This was, by far, the defining moment for Michelle Obama. Mrs. Obama, wife of the Democratic Party’s U.S. Presidential Nominee, The Honorable U.S. Senator Barack Obama, provided words of hope, heritage and homage. She not only gave insight to her life as a child raised and reared on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois, but she shared the struggles and sacrifices she and her family made to get by and make ends meet. Can we all relate? Without a doubt. An ordinary woman that rose to extraordinary heights – daughter, sister, wife, mother, community leader, innovator and much more – she’s embraced and admired by millions in more ways than ever imagined before. This “dream girl” came face-to-face with the hope and ambition to succeed and used critical elements such as true integrity, sprinkled with loads of faith and hard work to get to the point where she is today. She epitomizes the challenge to change, and we can be assured that change has truly been elevated yet another high level. My prayer and sincere hope for all of our communities, regardless of color, creed and status, is to catch on to this vision of change and hold on real tight to the audacity to inspire, hope and dream. Change is here – embrace it with all of your power, strength and might.
