- Celebrities Participate in Outside-the-Classroom Educational Program -

(BLACK PR WIRE) -- WHO: Yolanda Adams and Raven Symone join comedian Steve Harvey and 112 students participating in the 2011 Disney’s Dreamers Academy. Other celebrities and speakers will include:
o Mikki Taylor - Essence Magazine
o Ruben Studdard - American Idol
o Terrence J - 106 & Park
o Dr. Steve Perry – educator and motivational speaker
o Marlon West - Walt Disney Animation Studios

WHAT: A four-day, power-packed, outside-the-classroom educational program where students are inspired, motivated, and prepared to achieve their dreams through “immersive” workshops that focus on a wide range of careers and professional topics including:

• Leadership Excellence – Dreamers learn top strategies for tomorrow’s business leaders from Disney executives who demonstrate how effective leadership produces innovation, shapes relationships, and improves the bottom line.
• Medicine/Veterinary Medicine - Dreamers get a “behind-the-scenes” look at the animal care facilities at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
• Language/International Studies - Dreamers meet with executives from the Walt Disney World International Studies program and students from other countries working in the international pavilions at Epcot.
• Animation – Dreamers learn about the man who set the industry standard for animation – Walt Disney – as they explore the history, innovation and creative process of bringing characters to life.
• Entertainment - Dreamers go inside the American Idol Experience attraction and Disney Channel Rocks! stage show with some very special guests.

Launched in 2007, Disney’s Dreamers Academy was developed to motivate students in grades 9-12 to achieve their dreams personally and professionally.
