(BLACK PR WIRE) "" Miami Gardens, FL "" As the City of Miami Gardens celebrates its ten year anniversary and continues to expand its economic, social and cultural reach, city officials announce the addition of Emmy Award-winning broadcast journalist Julia Yarbough as the newest partner with the Events and Media team.

A well-known journalist, event hostess, public speaker, blogger and video producer, Julia Yarbough's range of multi-media skills will be utilized in strategies to elevate the visibility of Miami Gardens using a number of strategies, including increased social media presence, community partnerships, revitalizing the Miami Gardens Community Newspaper and increased involvement with traditional news mediums.

Julia Yarbough is best recognized as the evening news anchor and reporter for WTVJ-NBC 6 in South Florida, most recently hosting the 6, 7 and 11 p.m. newscasts. A South Florida resident for more than sixteen years, Yarbough has reported on a variety of community-based issues affecting Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe counties, as well as providing live national reports for NBC'S The Olympic Zone from the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy and the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. She serves on the board of the American Diabetes Association Miami Chapter, has been honored as one of the "100 Outstanding Women of Broward" and is actively involved in programs to bring greater awareness to environmental, children's and women's issues.
