Specifically, United Way's work in the health area is focused on four priorities: "¢ Increasing access to quality behavioral health services "¢ Supporting individuals and families to practice healthy lifestyles "¢ Increasing access to the healthcare system including preventive health screenings "¢ Providing people living with disabilities and their caregivers with access to health and support services In part through our valued partnership with Baptist Health South Florida, United Way supported program achieved the following outcomes: "¢ More than 10,600 individuals, including children, received hearing, dental, breast, HIV/AIDS and heart screenings; "¢ 9,430 older adults were provided community-based home care services, personal care, emergency and basic servicesthat allowed them to remain living independently; "¢ Since 2008, Miami-Dade residents saved more than $5 million on prescription medication through our Familywize program.
