(BPRW) DC FASHION WEEK Highlights the Evolution of International Fashion

(BLACK PR WIRE) "" Washington, DC, "" The cynosure of international fashion, DC Fashion Week (DCFW) "" in commemoration of its 20th seasonal showcase -- debuts its 2014 Autumn/Winter designer collections beginning the 17th through the 23rd of February 2014 at multiple venues throughout the capital city.

The seven-day schedule of events begins that Monday with the DCFW Kick-Off Reception & Eco Fashion Show at the Washington Harbour in Georgetown. These local designer showcases feature the impact of world cultures on American fashion by donning environment-friendly fashion while mirroring the importance of going green.

The following Tuesday debuts DCFW's Fashion in the Streets! "" a flash mob of pop up appearances by special guests as well as DCFW models. More than DCFW's 250,000 followers can expect the unexpected!

DCFW's executive director, Ean Williams, also known as DC's premier red carpet designer, showcases his latest designs the following Wednesday at world-renown Madame Tussauds (located at 1001 F St. NW). Celebrity guest model David McIntosh makes a special appearance -- much to the delight of his devoted fans -- at The Corjor International Fashion Show.

On Thursday, the largest gathering of area fashionistas -- including designers, models, photographers, media, retailers and life-style bloggers "" explore, experience and evolve during the Fashion Industry Networking Party at the Dirty Martini Bar & Restaurant (Dupont Circle).

The weekend starts with the ever so popular Haute & Modesty Fashion Show at the Four Points Sheraton. Once again DCFW raises the bar as special guest designers exhibit the Modesty style collections. Much to the chagrin of men everywhere, this is a women's only event.

Returning this season are the outstanding M.E.D.I.A. and Emerging Designer showcases (hosted by Washington Post Conference Center) as well as the 20th International Couture Collections Show at the Historical Society of Washington (across from the convention center) on Sunday. Given the past performances of these two events, the finale is sure to leave you wanting more!

Altogether, this season of DCFW continues to deliver fashionably diverse collections, which highlight the cultural evolution its audiences have come to expect and enjoy.
