(BLACK PR WIRE) -- ATLANTA (June 24, 2014)--CAU President Carlton E. Brown (left) June 16 received the City of Atlanta Phoenix Award from Mayor Kasim Reed (right) and his mother, Ms. Sylvia Reed, during a City Hall reception commending the University as a host school for President Obama's Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), designed to invest in the next generation of African leaders.

CAU is the only educational institution in the state of Georgia selected to participate and the only historically black college or university in the YALI program. Clark Atlanta was cited for playing a vital role in facilitating cultural, educational and economic exchanges between the United States and Africa. This summer, 25 young African leaders, representing more than 10 countries, are studying business and entrepreneurship at CAU.
