(BPRW) Hidden Figures Appreciation Hour Women’s History Month Closing Ceremony

(Black PR Wire) L’Union Suite, Atizan International and M.I.A. Media, Inc., is inviting the media and the public to the first ever Hidden Figures Appreciation Hour on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Proscenium Theatre at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex.

During the month of March, men and women revel at the achievements of women from around the world. Trailblazers who have paved the way for others and women who have sacrificed to reach their highest aspirations. In observance of Women’s History Month we wanted to give these women a voice.

The Hidden Figures Honorees include the first Haitian Olympic Swimmer Naomy Grand’Pierre, World Renowned Author Edwidge Danticat, Tech Innovator Rica Elysee, Prominent Community Leader Gepsie Metellus, International Journalist Jacqueline Charles, Barrier Breaking Entertainer Rutshelle Guillaume and Multifaceted Goodwill Ambassador Sarodj Bertin.

As young Haitian-American professionals, L’Union Suite, Atizan International and M.I.A. Media, Inc., believe that it is time to shed a positive light on the triumphs of Haitian-American women in and outside of the community who have gained the right to be appreciated and acknowledged. “Each of these women have faced adversity in the past and have learned how to rise above it to achieve greatness, how can we not honor the true meaning of womanhood by honoring their fortitude, perseverance and determination?” asks L’Union Suite’s Wanda Tima-Gilles.

With a Cocktail Hour starting at 7:30pm, the Proscenium Theatre will be the perfect backdrop to award these women with an accolade for their success and victories to close out Women’s History Month in style. Proceeds from the event are going to the Princess Training Mentoring Program that prepares young girls for the work force by teaching them proper etiquette and giving them interview skills. Hidden Figures Appreciation Hour is a night of celebration, networking and praise by women, for women to benefit women.
