(BPRW) Make Healthy Happen Miami to Participate in People Matter Fest

(Black PR Wire) In a continuous effort to bring awareness to health and wellness, the Make Healthy Happen Miami team will participate in the People Matter Fest. The festival takes place on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Athalie Range Park located at 525 NW 62nd Street, Miami, FL 33150 from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. The event is free and open to all ages.

The Make Healthy Happen booth will feature the fan favorite “Wheel of Health” game. This game provides the opportunity for participants to spin the Wheel-of-Health and learn about the Make Healthy Happen campaign. Booth visitors will also receive personal health packs filled with educational materials on healthy living and a Make Healthy Happen water bottle. Plus, the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County will be conducting free health screenings on site.

The People Matter Fest is presented by Papa Keith for People Matter, 103.5 The Beat and Chairman Keon Hardemon. The event will feature a kid zone, DJ battle, 3 on 3 tournament and art exhibition.

Make Healthy Happen Miami is an initiative of the Consortium for a Healthier Miami-Dade and the Partnerships to Improve Community Health (PICH). PICH focus areas include tobacco and smoke-free environments, environments with healthy foods or beverages, physical activity opportunities, and prevention of chronic diseases through clinical and community linkages. The campaign includes the use of marketing and media strategies throughout the Miami-Dade local community. Make Healthy Happen Miami is a message from the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County, and is made possible with funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
