(Black PR Wire) MIAMI, FL — In a powerful demonstration of community investment and economic revitalization, the Northwest 79th Street Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) has successfully helped rescue the last remaining Royal Castle restaurant in the United States from permanent closure—breathing new life into a beloved Miami institution.

Located along the historic NW 79th Street corridor, the iconic eatery—once part of a chain that dominated South Florida’s dining scene—faced an uncertain future in late 2025. Reports indicated that the restaurant had closed its doors, marking what many believed to be the end of an era for a brand that dates back to 1938 and once boasted more than 200 locations.

But what seemed like a final chapter quickly turned into a story of revival.

Through the Commercial Rehabilitation Grant program, the NW 79th St. CRA stepped in at a critical moment—providing the resources needed to stabilize operations, enhance the property, and restore confidence in the business. The owners, who initially believed closure was inevitable, instead found a path forward through the investment.

Through our Commercial Rehabilitation Grant, we were financially able to help transform what felt like an ending into a new beginning.”
