Chicago parents and children invited to fun, in-store events

(BLACK PRWIRE) CHICAGO, (Oct. 6, 2009) — Knowing that most kids come home from school hungry for snacks, Save-A-Lot food stores today announced that it is partnering with Chicago-area registered dietitian, Maria Alamo to present fun, educational events in several stores in the Chicago area to speak with parents about choosing the best after-school snacks. Beginning this week, the in-store events will include games, prizes, food displays, coupons, and demonstrations on finding healthy and delicious food options in local Save-A-Lot food stores.

“In our dedication to serving the Chicago community, we’re happy to partner with Maria to bring the ‘Great Kids Need Great Snacks’ events to local Save-A-Lot food stores,” said Vanessa Foster, Director of Communications and Community Relations. “The school season is a busy time for parents, so Save-A-Lot food stores want to do their part to provide them with information needed to make healthier food choices.”
