Reid's half-hour comedy special, "LMAO" to air on the TV One network.
( BLACK PR WIRE)LAS VEGAS, June 8, 2010 — Celebrate Independence Day with food, family, fireworks and jokes as comedian J. Reid presents his comedy special “LMAO” on TV One. The half-hour comedy special will air at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. PST.
“Fire up your grill, gather your family and make me part of your celebration by watching “LMAO,” said Reid. “It’s going to be sexy, insightful, and of course funny. No subjects are off limit. I worked hard the on special, so in return I ask viewers to enjoy the show — and save me a plate from their barbeques.”
Reid is the season four winner of comedian Bill Bellamy’s television comedy competition “Who’s Got Jokes?” The show was filmed in Reid’s hometown, Las Vegas, Nevada. While filming “Jokes?” Reid experienced the devastating loss of his father, Sammie, who he credits with giving him the strength to continue the show. In December 2009, after eight weeks of competition, Reid was voted by America as the “Jokes?” winner, beating out 24 other contestants including his best friend comedian D’Lai. As the winner, Reid received the opportunity to have his own half-hour comedy special filmed and aired on TV One.
“I have always dreamed of doing my own special just like the comedy greats before me including George Carlin, Bill Cosby, Eddie Murphy and Chris Rock,” said Reid. “After “LM AO” airs, I hope more people will appreciate my style of comedy and that I continue to have my work recognized in the comedy industry.”
