(BPRW) Florida Memorial University hosts book signing and discussion What a Man: Life and Teaching of Dr. Robert B. Ingram

- Honorable Erhabor Ighodaro, Ph.D., Releases New Book and an insightful, thought provoking and life transforming account of one of the most important leaders of our generation -

(BLACK PR WIRE) – At a time when many youngsters in our community are struggling with violence, drug abuse, and crime, there is a need to reexamine the role men play in our society. What a Man provides a snapshot into the life of a man whose life’s story transcends race, class and gender.

Born into a difficult set of circumstances and with a background as a ‘high school drop–out’, Ingram’s personal transformation represents the possibility in many children whose life chances have been thwarted by poverty, marginalization, and the realities of youthful indiscretions.

Recognized as one of the 100 most outstanding Blacks in America, he defied the odds to become a police chief, mayor, school board member, clergyman and community leader.

What a man, details this transformative journey from the perspective of a long-time aide and mentee. Get this book …let the thoughts, teachings and writing of Ingram inspire you to make a difference. What a Man!

Dr. Robert Ingram was a remarkable leader. He had the ability to make everyone want to model his leadership. During his lifetime he wore many hats. In his private life, his various professional positions and his extensive public service, he led with his strong character and extraordinary charisma. One memorable initiative that I most cherish was his "Read-To-Lead" program. Dr. Ingram believed that improving reading skills was paramount to improving student performance. "Read-To-Lead" is one of the many legacies that Dr. Ingram left South Florida.
- Roger Cuevas (Former Superintendent Miami-Dade Schools)

Robert Ingram devoted his life to the enlightenment and enrichment of the minds of young people. He was a clergyman, intellect, public servant, and a gifted leader who was especially revered by those who were the least loved among us.
- George F. Knox (Former City of Miami Attorney)

This is a man who cared fiercely about justice and fairness...who fought for a community and a country that would have a real commitment to children -- all children.
- David Lawrence Jr. (President/The Early Childhood Initiative Foundation & Former Chairperson The Children’s Trust)
