(Black PR Wire) The Beverly Hills West (CA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated (BHW) hosted its sold-out second annual Green & White Reception under the theme “A Party With A Purpose”. Held in the iconic AMG Showroom courtesy of Mercedes-Benz Beverly Hills, this highly anticipated event brought together members, supporters, and community leaders for an evening of elegance, purpose, and celebration. The Green & White Reception continues to be a signature event that reflects BHW’s commitment to transforming communities and empowering lives, particularly among African Americans and individuals of African ancestry. Guests were deeply moved as a past participant of the Chapter’s GEMS (Girls Empowered Motivated & Strong) Program and her father shared how the initiative had changed their lives. Adding to the evening’s significance, a past four-year scholarship recipient inspired attendees with his story of academic success, made possible through BHW’s unwavering support.
In the spirit of National Friendship Month and in celebration of National Founders Day, the evening’s program highlighted the enduring power of sisterhood and service. BHW proudly announced the awarding of over $150,000 in four-year college scholarships to deserving students, reinforcing its dedication to educational excellence and its mission to empower future leaders. The evening was led by Chapter President Zna Portlock Houston and championed by Tri-Chairs Adell Walker, La-Doris McClaney, and Victoria Beeks. Guests delighted in passed hors d'oeuvres and appetizers, skillfully crafted by Chef Char from Food Décor, while BlackStorm provided refreshing and expertly curated libations that perfectly complemented the culinary offerings.
The venue came alive with energy as DJ Printz provided lively sounds that inspired guests to dance and celebrate the season. The sophisticated AMG Showroom offered a stunning backdrop, creating an atmosphere where networking blossomed into meaningful connections, and the holiday spirit shone brightly throughout the night. As a sold-out event, the Green & White Reception showcased the incredible enthusiasm and support for BHW’s mission. Funds raised during the evening will directly fuel the Chapter’s transformative community programming across five key areas: The Arts, International Trends & Services, Health & Human Services, National Trends & Services, and Services to Youth. Additionally, these funds will help provide critical college scholarships to deserving students, continuing BHW’s legacy of advancing educational opportunity.
This second annual reception was more than a gathering—it was a celebration of friendship, a renewal of purpose, and a reaffirmation of BHW’s legacy of service. As attendees raised their glasses to “A Party With A Purpose,” the evening embodied the enduring power of collective action and sisterhood to create meaningful change.
