(BPRW) Children’s Defense Fund appoints Alisha Porter as New State Director of Minnesota Office

(Black PR Wire) Saint Paul, MN — Alisha Porter has been named the new state director of Children's Defense Fund-Minnesota. Porter previously served in the interim role, providing her experience and leadership before formally accepting the position.   

Porter joined CDF-MN in 2006. She has demonstrated fiscal management and leadership, leading various programming teams and initiatives for CDF's Samuel DeWitt Proctor Institute for Child Advocacy Ministry, Young Advocate Leadership Training (YALT), CDF Beat the Odds®, and national training for the CDF Freedom Schools® program.

"Her dedication and love for the organization over the last 16 years are a proven testament to the strength and integrity she brings to this role."   

Porter is a systematic thinker with a gift of administration and a deep commitment to child wellbeing and youth.    

"Our work is critical, and it's a directive of the responsibility we carry to ensure children and youth have equitable access to the resources they need to thrive," Porter said.   

Porter received her B.S. in business administration and has 20 years of experience in the financial and operational management nonprofit sector, particularly within child and youth-focused organizations.
