-FPL sponsors the Haitian Caribbean Roots Festival and shares energy savings tips on Ayiti TV-
(Black PR Wire) Dedicated and committed to helping their customers understand the best ways to “beat the heat,” Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) took part in a special broadcast on Ayiti TV recently.
The program, entitled MizikLakay - or Home Music in English - features FPL’s Duke Extra, a member of the company’s Customer Advocacy Department. Extra was interviewed by Roody Lormara, one of the key program hosts for the station.
The broadcast was part of the promotion for the Haitian Caribbean Roots Festival, set for Monday, September 4th, from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. The celebration takes place in Little Haiti, along NE 2nd Avenue, and from 54th to 62nd street. FPL is among the key sponsors of the event.

The Roots Festival 2017 is a FREE outdoor, family event featuring sounds of Kompa, Reggae, Rara, Meringue, Calypso and la Banda on two stages. This Festival also showcases excellent island food, art, a kids’ corner and health-related activities. The event is hosted in collaboration with Senator Daphne Campbell representing District 38 and the City of Miami.
