(BPRW) Historic First: Beulah Heights University Launches Accredited Sacred Movement Program with Apostle Dr. Sabrina McKenzie

(Black PR Wire) UNITED STATES — Beulah Heights University (BHU), a historic Christ-centered institution founded in 1918, is proud to announce the launch of an innovative academic pathway that formally integrates sacred movement into accredited higher education.

A Groundbreaking Academic Focus

The new 18-credit concentration in Liturgical Worship & Sacred Movement is housed within BHU’s Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies. The curriculum was authored by Apostle Dr. Sabrina McKenzie, the visionary behind the federal legislation for National Liturgical Dance Day.

As one of the first fully accredited programs of its kind, this concentration positions sacred movement within a scholarly framework grounded in faith, theology, and leadership development. These undergraduate courses are designed to strengthen students’ theological understanding and professional discipline within the context of Christian higher education.

Launching the Elite 100 Centennial Scholars Initiative

In conjunction with this launch, BHU is introducing the Elite 100 Centennial Scholars Initiative—a multi-year scholarship and mentorship program designed to identify and support emerging leaders in the worship arts.

The initiative reflects BHU’s long-term commitment to cultivating a cohort of scholars through:

  • Competitive Scholarship Opportunities: Donor-supported aid to increase academic access.
  • Structured Mentorship: Direct guidance from industry and ministry leaders.
  • Economic Opportunity: Transforming artistic calling into professional credentials, particularly for students from underserved communities.

Elevating Faith Through Scholarship

As communities seek solutions for youth disengagement, BHU offers a disciplined, faith-centered alternative. The concentration integrates:

  1. Theological Foundations: Deep-diving into worship studies.
  2. Leadership Development: Preparing students for professional ministry and organizational roles.
  3. Artistic Excellence: Refining technique through an academic lens.

"This focus represents BHU’s commitment to equipping leaders who integrate faith, scholarship, and worship," said Dr. Benson Karanja, President of Beulah Heights University. "We are expanding access to higher education while elevating sacred movement into a disciplined academic context."

Apostle Dr. Sabrina McKenzie, Program Director, added: "This initiative builds a bridge between the altar and the academy from calling to credentialed. Sacred movement has long shaped worship culture—now it will also shape academic and professional opportunity."
