Where Caregiving Intersects with Self-Discovery: Love the Skin You’re In Unveils a Raw, Moving Story of Healing
(Black PR Wire) Los Angeles, CA --Debuting as a writer, executive producer, and lead actor, Sauda Johnson‑McNeal presents Love the Skin You’re In, an intimate independent film about family, forgiveness, and finding the courage to heal.
Directed by Kenn Michael, the film brings together a stellar cast featuring Obba Babatundé, Wendy Raquel Robinson, and Marla Gibbs to shine a powerful light on Black women’s mental health, caregiving, and generational healing.
Love The Skin You're In (LTSYI) follows Sasha, a celebrated photojournalist devoted to capturing the quiet strength of her community while also running a women’s empowerment center founded by her late grandmother. Sasha’s world begins to unravel when plans to shut down the center threatens her life’s work. Already balancing a demanding career, deep‑seated childhood trauma, and the relentless urge to please everyone around her, Sasha faces her biggest test yet. As old wounds reopen and her carefully controlled life begins to crumble, Sasha must decide whether she can put her own healing first or risk losing everything.
Produced by Kimberly L. Ogletree and Sauda Johnson‑McNeal, Love the Skin You’re In takes an authentic, layered look at what it means to care for others while finally learning to care for yourself.
