#StrongKids By Jennifer Keitt and Naomi Keitt

(Black PR Wire) Children as young as three years old are constructing essential thoughts and feelings about their parents, friends, and life, and acting based on their moods. By learning how to use their thoughts and feelings productively, children can gain control over their emotions—like anger or sadness—and turn them around so they have more positive, peaceful days. Parents, teachers, and caregivers can help in this process by guiding children on how to focus on their strengths.

Through #StrongKids—co-authored by media veteran and human behavioral consultant Jennifer Keitt and her daughter, news reporter Naomi Keitt—parents and their children can create camaraderie versus a combative relationship. This practical, colorful, and fun book will help children ages 3-6 learn the social and emotional skills involved in understanding their thoughts and feelings. #StrongKids will help children take back their power in order to "turn things around" when their thoughts bring them down.

“In the times we are living in, children need a way to cope and handle their emotions,” says Jennifer Keitt. “For toddlers and young children, common behavioral problems arise when they don’t have the skills to assess what they’re thinking, how they’re feeling, and the impact their thoughts and feelings are having on how they behave. It takes practice, but if parents can help their children tune into their thoughts and feelings, they will have a better chance of curbing unwanted behavior by supporting their child’s positive thoughts, feelings, and actions.”

While other books address this topic by speaking at parents, #StrongKids talks with children and gives them a chance to claim their power for themselves. Filling this market gap, #StrongKids serves as a conversation tool for parents to reconnect with their children each day by discussing how they think and feel.

#StrongKids is designed by a parent for parents and by an educator for children that will give everyone inspiration to live better lives. Through her work with The Keitt Institute, Jennifer has taught four essential concepts that have helped people take back their power and become strong in their lives and now applies these for children:

• Our thoughts generate emotions

• Emotions influence our moods

• Our moods take us up or down throughout the day

• We act based on what we think, how we feel, and the mood we are in

#StrongKids will help curb the culture of combat in many homes. When a child is an active participant in thinking and feeling in a more positive way, homes become places of calm versus places of chaos. Even when children are having a bad or sad time, #StrongKids gives parents a Social-Emotional Learning resource to help their children reframe the situation and helps to create a home filled with possibility and power. The accompanying #StrongKids Toolkit online, Understanding Your Child’s Personality, is available after purchase of the book electronically.

“When children get the opportunity to learn themselves and learn where their power comes from, they are truly strong and unstoppable,” says Naomi Keitt. “#StrongKids allows children to take the lead and uncover their unique ability to communicate with friends, family, and the world around them.
