(BPRW) JABM, a multicultural and black-owned live entertainment company, makes a splash in Las Vegas

(Black PR Wire) JABM, a multicultural and black-owned live entertainment company that was started in 2020, is making their mark in Las Vegas, NV by booking this summer’s hottest tours at The Amp in North Las Vegas. JABM has one goal in mind - to pioneer change from the status quo across the concert industry while positively impacting and leaving a lasting mark on the communities the company operates in.

JABM has exploded out of the gates since the world has been reopening with presentations by Erykah Badu, Cypress Hill, Cedric The Entertainer, Too $hort, and more. JABM is looking to establish a new standard and raise the bar for what it means to provide live event experiences.

The JABM concert schedule at The Amp at Craig Ranch, North Las Vegas' premier outdoor venue, is as follows: Phoebe Bridgers (Friday, May 13); Lord Huron (Tuesday, May 17); Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals plus Shakey Graves (Thursday, May 26); George Clinton and The Parliament Funkadelic- One Nation Under A Groove Tour feat special guests: Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Fishbone, and Fantastic Negrito (Saturday, August 13).

Add to those bookings in Southern California: Common with Double G’s Stardust Symphony + Lettuce + Nikka Costa and KCRW DJ Novena Carmel (Saturday July 9 at Starlight Bowl in Burbank CA).

About Jayson Sawyer, CEO of JABM

Jayson Sawyer has served as the Chief Executive Officer of JABM since 2020. He created the company with one mission in mind - changing the status-quo for what it means to promote live events, entertainment, and curated experiences. That means changing how promoters treat talent, the operations & production teams, as well as the communities that they operate in.

Born and raised in San Jose, California, Jayson grew a strong appreciation for different cultures, food, and especially music in the melting pot that is the Bay Area. After his time at Bellarmine College Preparatory, Jayson continued his studies at San Jose State University where he graduated from their business program.

Prior to his role at JABM, Jayson worked for 10+ years in Silicon Valley selling technology software, most recently at LeanData Inc. Before his stint at LeanData, Jayson was at Adobe selling their Document Cloud Solutions to the Enterprise client base.

About Nancy Arteaga, Marketing Director

Nancy Marie Arteaga has 12 years of experience managing Los Angeles based music groups through her company Nance Arte Productions, a full-service management, and production agency. Born in Downey, CA, Nancy’s deep roots and passion for music have made her a staple of Southern California’s Latin, soul, and reggae communities. Her relationships with the Southland’s most up-and-coming bands including the Boogaloo Assassins, The Expanders, The Delirians, Extra Ancestral, Bobby Oroza, Eric Bobo and Cutty Flam, as well as legacy acts such as rocksteady revivalists Hepcat and afro-funk ensemble Ethio Cali She has created dozens of extremely well-received fundraising and community events including a ten-band, multi-genre tribute to the late Sharon Jones & Charles Bradley, The Big Crown Records Revue, and Dolores Huerta’s 81st Birthday Celebration. Additionally, she works with Spaceland Presents on the long-running dance party Funky Sole at The Echo.

About Megan Jacobs Araujo, Talent Buyer

Megan Jacobs Araujo started off her musical career in Los Angeles during the late ‘90s helping book and launch the cultural music mecca Temple Bar in Santa Monica. She later helped produce the North Beach Jazz Fest and New Orleans at Night, a series of New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival club shows. In 2005, she joined the booking department for the legendary Roxy Theatre on the Sunset Strip. She quickly became Head Talent Buyer, overseeing all elements of a show’s lifecycle from booking to production to finals. Prior to the pandemic, Megan was the Director of Programming at the historic Mayfair Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles, where she was able to showcase LA’s finest live music and art.

About Phil Shell, Head of Promotions

Phil Shell fell in love with music at a very young age singing alongside his mother in their church choir. He went on to record hip-hop music as a teenager, leading him to fall in love with the entertainment and music businesses. As an avid sports, music and comedy fan, he loves traveling to unfamiliar places to experience live entertainment while taking in the local culture. After successfully exiting multiple night club and café businesses in San Francisco, Phil is looking forward to bringing his skill set to JABM to create unique and unforgettable experiences.
