(Black PR Wire) The Alliance of Black Women Accountants is pleased to announce their annual ABWA General Scholarship and the new Rosemarie Pamela Brown Scholarship to honor the memory and legacy of the late founder and first President, Rosemarie Pamela Brown.
The ABWA General Scholarship is for individuals aspiring to enter the field of finance or accounting. The scholarship is designed to help a woman of color on her journey to become a business woman by providing additional funds to use towards their college education.
The fall session is now open for application submissions and the deadline is September 30, 2021
Scholarship Award Amount: up to $1000
Eligibility Requirements:
1) Candidate must be a full- or part-time High School or College student seeking a career in the accounting and/or finance.
2) Student must have a minimum 2.75 GPA.
3) Must apply for a membership in A.B.W.A. or be a current member. First year membership for students is free.
Requirements for applying for this scholarship is as follows:
• Complete Online Application
• Write an essay (limited to 500 words), describing your interest in Accounting or Finance
• Copy of your high school or college transcript
• Two current letters of recommendation
The deadline for this award is as follows: Fall – Sept 30
The Rosemarie Pamela Brown Scholarship was created to honor our founder and first President of ABWA, to remember her legacy of uplifting Black women in the field of finance and accounting. This scholarship is designed to provide extra support to an exceptional woman of color looking to pursue a career in the accounting or finance profession.
Scholarship Award Amount: up to $5000
Eligibility Requirements:
1) Candidate must be a full- or part-time High School or College student seeking a career in the accounting and/or finance.
2) Student must have a minimum 3.00 GPA.
3) Must apply for a membership in A.B.W.A. or be a current member. First year membership for students is free.
Requirements for applying for this scholarship is as follows:
• Complete the Online Application
• An essay (limited to 1000 words), describing your interest in Accounting or Finance and any adversity challenges you have overcome in pursuing your goal.
• Copy of your high school or college transcript
• Two current letters of recommendation
