(BPRW) Fourth Annual Music Festival to Celebrate Spirit of Newark's Lincoln Park

(BLACK PR WIRE) NEWARK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- From Friday July 24 to Sunday July 26, Mayor Cory Booker, the Newark Municipal Council and Lincoln Park Coast Cultural District (LPCCD) will present the fourth annual Lincoln Park Music Festival: A Celebration of Spirit and Dance. The free, outdoor festival highlights the spirit of Lincoln Park with over 30 featured performances in three music genres: gospel, house and hip-hop and attractions for the entire family. The Festival will feature some of music’s most renowned artists including Grammy Award winner Ms. Thelma Houston, Tony Nominated actress Elisabeth Withers, house music legend CeCe Rogers, and hip-hop pioneers the Rock Steady Crew 32nd Anniversary concert, Rock Steady for Life.

The Lincoln Park Music Festival is a premier destination for music lovers throughout the tri-state, explained Anthony Smith, Director of Community Affairs & Operations at LPCCD and Executive Producer of the Lincoln Park Music Festival. It’s one of the only events in the city where you can be outdoors, enjoy great food, take a free yoga class, get free medical screenings and get vital information about going green all while enjoying premier musical entertainment.

As an eco-arts village, Lincoln Park is committed to reducing its carbon footprint and helping others learn to do the same. The Festival features a variety of free attractions such as the Green Marketplace, Organic Farmers Market, yoga classes, and health pavilion all aimed at encouraging attendees to Go Green.
The Festival is a dynamic example of how Lincoln Park is leading the way in eco-urban development, Smith explained. Each year we entertain thousands of people while we educate them and provide tools to help them succeed in living a green and sustainable lifestyle.

The Lincoln Park Music Festival is open to all ages and includes activities for children and senior citizens. Festivities begin Friday with gospel in the park hosted by Dr. Albert Lewis, followed by Saturday’s house music celebration hosted by CeCe Rogers and culminating on Sunday with a tribute to hip-hop featuring the Rock Steady Crew and hosted by End of the Weak.
