-Six Ice Cold Leaders to be Recognized through Online Voting Process-
(BLACK PR WIRE) – CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Coors Light® fans can now honor exceptional community leaders, by casting their votes in the inaugural Coors Light Ice Cold Leader program. 100 Black Men of America, Inc., a national organization committed to enhancing educational and economic opportunities for African-American men, teamed with Coors Light to identify exemplary community ambassadors for the Ice Cold Leader award.
Consumers from across the U.S. can vote for nominees hailing from Atlanta, Baltimore, Baton Rouge, Birmingham, New Orleans and Mobile, which were selected based upon their ability to lead by example, motivate others and create or inspire positive living and innovation, with lasting effects on their communities. Consumers are encouraged to visit the Ice Cold Leader microsite (www.IceColdLeader.com), to learn about each contestant and cast their vote for the most-deserving candidate in each city. Online voting will close on March 15, 2012 and the winners will be drawn at the end of March and announced in early April. The Ice Cold Leader program will culminate with a series of celebratory receptions, honoring each winner, in their respective city.
“Excellence and leadership are the cornerstones on which our organization was founded, in 1986,” said Albert E. Dotson, Jr., Esq., Chairman of the Board, 100 Black Men of America, Inc. “Collaborating with Coors Light on a program that salutes these characteristics among the adults within our extended communities is vital, and was a natural and seamless fit.”
Participating retail locations will display signage to drive online consumer voting. The Ice Cold Leader program was established by Coors Light to toast to achievement, by recognizing leaders making a positive impact on their communities. As part of the partnership with 100 Black Men of America, Inc., Coors Light will make a donation of $100,000 to the national chapter and participating local chapters.
“We’re very excited about this new program and collaboration with 100 Black Men of America,” said Larry Waters, director of multicultural relations, MillerCoors. “The mission of 100 Black Men aligns with our own core values, as we collectively work to help develop and recognize the next generation of African-American leaders in our communities.”
