(BLACK PR WIRE) – ATLANTA – April 15, 2013 – GMC TV, America’s favorite channel for uplifting family entertainment, presents the original GMC World Premiere Stage Play “Love Will Keep Us Together” (www.watchgmctv.com/stageplay, #StagePlay), starring Reagan Gomez-Preston (Never Die Alone, “The Parent Hood”), Valarie Pettiford (Why Did I Get Married Too, “Half & Half”), Wesley Jonathan (“The Soul Man”), Cynthia Kaye McWilliams (The Lake House, “The Real Husbands of Hollywood”), Rodney Perry (Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family, “Off The Chain”) and Juhahn Jones (Exit Strategy). A comedy of impending dual nuptials, “Love Will Keep Us Together” makes its world television premiere exclusively on GMC TV on Saturday, April 20 at 7 p.m., 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. ET/PT.

Based on an original screenplay written by Cas Sigers Beedles (A Cross to Bear, “Sugar Mommas,” “If You Really Love Me”) and directed by Roger Melvin (Not For Sale, “Sugar Mommas”), “Love Will Keep Us Together” spotlights how jitters, ring envy, outrageous expectations and eccentric parents steer the bouncy, comic road to the altar for two childhood best friends, Tao (Gomez-Preston) and Bren (McWilliams), who are set on an extravagant double wedding to Nelson (Jones) and Lee (Jonathan) in Hawaii. As the ladies’ big day careens on- and off-track, their emotional highs and lows are shared by their funny, involved families, including in-laws to-be Paula (Pettiford) and Ernest (Perry). With some luck, a great deal of negotiation and a dash of faith, this pair of brides-to-be might actually make it to the chapel on time.

“Love Will Keep Us Together” is a bubbly addition to our uplifting love- and marriage-themed series of world premiere plays,” says Leslie Glenn Chesloff, GMC’s executive vice president of programming. “Viewers will laugh, smirk with understanding, and ultimately cheer as these two strong modern young women work through their nervous second- and third-thoughts to create a singular dream wedding and happy, enriching, full futures with their men – as well as their boisterous families.”

GMC’s “Love Will Keep Us Together” is produced by Swirl Films’ Eric Tomosunas, who has produced and taped numerous stage plays and feature-length films for television and DVD, including 35 & Ticking, Love for Sale, A Mother’s Prayer, There’s a Stranger in My House, “Love Me or Leave Me,” “The Ideal Husband,” “The Love You Save” and “Sugar Mommas.”

“Love Will Keep Us Together” is the thirteenth original stage play to air in GMC’s hit series following the success of GMC productions “Between Sisters,” “Love Me or Leave Me,” “The Ideal Husband,” “She’s Not Our Sister,” “The Love You Save,” the NAACP-nominated “Sugar Mommas,” “If You Really Love Me,” “For Richer For Poorer,” “From This Day Forward,” “In Sickness and In Health,” “To Love and To Cherish,” and “Community Service.” GMC is the only network producing this popular medium and introducing new, original works to a broad television audience.
