(BPRW) 2nd Annual Women In Media Roundtable highlights South Florida industry leaders

-- The South Florida Black Journalists Association and Florida Memorial University Chapter of National Association of Black Journalists will honor women "influencers" in media and communications at event for Women's History Month at Florida Memorial University --

(BLACK PR WIRE) -- MIAMI, FL--The South Florida Black Journalists Association (SFBJA) and Florida Memorial University Chapter of The National Association of Black Journalists will honor five key women influencers who have impacted the South Florida media market on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the 2nd Annual Women in Media Roundtable and Awards Recognition. The event will be held at 1:30 pm at Florida Memorial University, 15800 NW 42nd Ave, Miami Gardens, FL 33054 in the FIU-FMU Auditorium.

The theme of the event is “Celebrating women of Character, Courage, and Commitment.” The five honorees include: WSVN 7 Anchor Danielle Knox; University of Miami Professor Tsitsi Wakhisi; President/CEO of Sonshine Communications Bernadette A. Morris; Radio and Television Personality Tamara Gant; and retired Senior Editor for News at Miami Herald Patricia Andrews. “Each year we recognize dynamic women of color who have made outstanding contributions in media and communications,” said Suzette Maylor, President of the South Florida Black Journalists Association. “Each of the women was chosen for their distinguished career accomplishments and contributions to the South Florida media landscape,” she added. Each honoree will participate in a panel discussion and share lessons from their personal career journey. There will be a question and answer session immediately following the panel discussion. The event is open to the public is free for students and $10 for the general public.
