(Black PR Wire) The CRA, City of Miami Commissioner Keon Hardemon and Headliner Market Group (HMG) will present the 2015 Overtown Music & Arts festival. The 5th annual street festival (FREE ADMISSION) is set to take place on Saturday, July 25, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the heart of the Overtown Business District on NW 3rd Avenue between 8th & 11th streets.Thousands of festival-goers are expected to take to the streets and sidewalks of the historic neighborhood - for a day full of family fun, local art, delicious food and performances from national and local artists.
The purpose of the Ovetown Music & Arts Festival is to promote and celebrate the rich history and culture of the historic neighborhood. The event has attracted thousands of attendees over the past five years and plans to widen visitor demographics with a star-studded line up of musical artists.
This year’s performances include nationally known musicians such as: Carl Thomas, Bobby Valentino, Raheem Devaughn, Melanie Fiona, Mya, and Glenn Jones. There will also be local performances from the Deep Fried Funk Band and South Florida’s local comedian and singer Larry Dogg. There will also be an interactive youth zone for kids.
Dedicated to the revitalization of the area, The CRA awarded a grant to the festival organizers, HMG, as part of its efforts to engage residents and festival participants in the redevelopment of the NW 3rd Avenue Business Corridor, specifically by showcasing the products and services of local businesses and organizations.
