Bantucola.com is Solving A Problem with Group Economics in the Pensacola, FL Black Community

(Black PR Wire) Pensacola, FL -  Bantucola.com - The Gulf Coast Black Business Directory, will host a Black Business Weekend celebration, Feb. 4 - 5th 2022 at JoJo’s Beauty Supply in Pensacola, FL. JoJo’s Beauty Supply is Pensacola's only Black-Owned beauty supply retailer. 

This is the 2nd annual Black Business Weekend held in Pensacola, FL. The first was held at the launch of Pensacola’s only Black-Owned Fresh Foods Grocery Store in Jan 2021.

The story of JoJo’s Beauty Supply starts with the vision of owner Crystal Young. She says, “JoJo’s motto ‘You’re the Best Thing that Ever Happened’ was rooted in my desire to create a judgment-free zone, concentrating on and celebrating the unconventional beauty.”

JoJo’s carries products by Black-Owned companies that are safe, natural, and designed for African American hair textures. The retailer also supports entrepreneurs by carrying locally manufactured brands.

We chose to support Crystal this year because of the unique challenges Black women have when starting beauty supply retail outlets catering to the Black community. We saw this as an opportunity to continue rallying the local Black community to practice group economics. This helps the community become aware of JoJo’s Beauty Supply and helps Crystal achieve the goal of creating that safe place, and “judgment free zone” for African American women in the area.

Chris Hendricks, the founder of Bantucola.com, is building a robust Black Business Ecosystem using the 1Kx20 model. Chris says, “We pair small Black-Owned businesses with events that promote group economics at scale. Our goal is to gather 1000 people to spend $20 at a local Black-Owned business. The Black Business Weekend is all about us being practitioners of what we preach, which is supporting the Black community and building its economic capacity.”
