Neferteri Plessy and Cole Patterson, Founders of the Multi-Cultural Non-Profit Organization Offers Children of Single Parent Households the Opportunity to Enjoy Three Days of Fun!

(Black PR Wire) LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Single Moms Planet, the national non-profit organization that assists struggling single mothers, will bring children of single mothers together for its annual Mommy and Me Camping Trip on July 26-28.

“We are excited to give children from single mom households the chance to enjoy a three-day adventure at Camp Emerald Bay on Catalina Island,” said Neferteri Plessy founder and CEO of Single Moms Planet. “It’s a great opportunity for children and their moms to share in a fun-filled camping trip that they otherwise would be unable to afford.”

Hosted by Single Moms Planet and sponsored by the Boys Scouts of America, Western Los Angeles, County Council, the Mommy and Me Camping Trip will take moms and their children ages 6 and over to Camp Emerald Bay on Catalina Island for three days of sailing, kayaking, swimming, snorkeling, campfire stories and much more. 

“The event will feature a number of single mothers who have struggled to keep their families together and have been assisted to find jobs, housing and more by Single Moms Planet,” said Cole Patterson co-founder of Single Moms Planet. Among these is Shamaiah Manriquez who came to Los Angeles with her young son and suddenly found herself homeless when her abusive husband left. But thanks to Single Moms Planet, its volunteers and others, she was able to get back on her feet and ultimately find an apartment and is currently attending college, studying fashion and design. 

 “I am very grateful to Neferteri and Single Moms Planet for their assistance and support,” Manriquez said. “My son Princeton is especially excited about the trip and have a chance to go swimming, camping and make some new friends. As a TV host, actress and model who herself had struggled to find balance and financial security for her children after her divorce, Neferteri Plessy established Single Moms Planet in 2013 with business partner Cole Patterson in order to assist other struggling single mothers. The two women went on to create Cole Skincare for Men which donates a portion of its proceeds to Single Moms Planet’s many programs such as job training, parenting classes, housing assistance, counseling, child care assistance, medical referrals, special events and more.
