(BPRW) Broward County Library's 23d Annual StoryBook Festival

Free family event features stories, entertainment and more

(Black PR Wire) BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Broward County Library invites families with children to the free 23rd Annual Storybook Festival, from 10AM to 3:30PM, Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Southwest Regional Library, 16835 Sheridan Street in Pembroke Pines, 33331, 954-357-6580.

The theme for this year's iconic StoryBook Festival is "The Future is STEAMed" and will focus on science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.

Geared toward children ages 10 and under, the festival provides a magical experience that encourages a love of reading and libraries through presentations by award-winning storytellers and literature-based performance groups. It is also an exciting way for the community to learn about Broward County Library's vast array of free programs and resources for all ages. 

Families can meet cartoonist Judd Winick, the New York Times bestselling author of Hilo! Winick has also written for Marvel, DC Comics and created The Life and Times of Juniper Lee for Cartoon Network.

StoryBook Festival activities include:

  • STEAM activities 
  • Big Book Giveaway to the first 1,000 children
  • Face painting, storytellers, stilt walkers and more
  • Swappin' Ground: Special place where children tell stories and hear storytellers
  • City of Pembroke Pines Art & Cultural Center student performers
  • Arts & Crafts with Pembroke Pines Recreation & Cultural Arts Department
  • Fantasy Forest Tours featuring classic storybook characters 
  • Costume Parade; kids may wear costumes and join the parade
All entertainment and activities are free; registration to attend the Festival is requested.
 
Fantasy Forest tour tickets are also free and can be obtained on-site during event day only, while supplies last. The Festival box office opens for morning tours at 10AM and afternoon tours at 12:30PM. For additional information, please email BCLYouthServices@Broward.org or call 954-357-6580.
