Recently, Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) “elves” worked their magic, decorating the family’s home for the holidays with thousands of sparkling LED lights, solar-powered displays and other energy-efficient décor. An annual festive tradition, this celebration marks the 17th consecutive year of FPL’s holiday program, which gives back to local heroes for their incredible commitment to the nation and their community.
Details on the holiday hero lighting event:
- A joyous moment for local U.S. Marine Corps veteran Tremain Mathis.
- Tremain served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2004-2008, where he distinguished himself as a dedicated mortarman.
- His exemplary service earned him numerous accolades including the Good Conduct Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Iraq Campaign Bar, Humanitarian Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Certificate of Appreciation and a Rifle Qualification Badge, reflecting his exceptional skill and commitment.
