(BPRW) DREF and the Black Greek Letter Consortium Launch the Rooted in Research Webinar Series

(Black PR Wire) Washington, DC - The Delta Research and Educational Foundation (DREF) and the Black Greek Letter Consortium (BGLC) and their collaborative partners will launch the Rooted in Research Webinar Series on Friday, May 1, offering empowering information on topics vital to realizing a quality lifestyle. DREF is partnering with the National Pan-Hellenic Council to present the series which will run throughout the month of May via the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) Facebook and YouTube pages Live. You are invited to join the Webinar, which will start at 8:00 p.m. EDT; log on to the NPHC Facebook or YouTube pages to view live and participate in the live discussions.

 

The presenters for the May 1 launch webinar will include the NPHC Council of Presidents, including, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.; Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.; Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.; Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc.; Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.; Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.; Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.; Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.; and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Each national leader will host a webinar in this series accompanied by a panel of experts, who will address a specific topic on the specific date the Webinar is presented. Topics range from physical and mental health to one's financial health; see complete listing of scheduled topics below.

 

DREF President Carolyn E. Lewis stated: "In regard to the numerous challenges currently facing the African American community as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Divine Nine is coming together as a united front to address issues and offer solutions to improve the quality of lives." DREF is currently conducting a major health awareness campaign to promote the National Institutes of Health All of Us Research program, which focuses on the importance of biomedical research and its impact to improve health and close the disparity gap. Information about the All of Us Research program's One in a Million campaign will be shared during the health segment of the Series.

 

The Rooted in Research Webinar Series is hosted by DREF, DREF Research Matters for All of Us, the NPHC, the Delta Teacher Efficacy Campaign (DTEC) Teachers Advocating to lead Great change (TAG) initiative, Cobb Institute, National Baptist Convention, Black Women's Health Imperative, and the University Of Alabama College Of Community Health Sciences.
