(Black PR Wire) Gap and Harlem’s Fashion Row (HFR) have joined forces to release a 16-piece, limited-edition collaboration featuring the work of six Black designers. The collection, launching during Black History Month, reimagines Gap’s most iconic wardrobe staples from the creative talents behind A.Potts, BruceGlen, KAPHILL, N’Gai, and Richfresh.
Having launched Friday, February 14, in select stores and on gap.com, the collection allows each designer to share their unique point of view through the lens of Gap’s iconic products.
Gap and Harlem’s Fashion Row unveiled the collection with an exclusive event hosted at Gap’s San Francisco headquarters on Thursday, February 13. The immersive presentation, blending storytelling with fashion and movement, was held just ahead of the NBA’s All-Star Weekend in San Francisco.
"This partnership is a natural fit, as it’s rooted in our shared mission to empower creators and provide them with a platform to share their talent with the world," said Mark Breitbard, President & CEO of Gap brand. “Each designer’s creativity takes center stage — inspired by Gap’s heritage while bringing a fresh, authentic perspective to create a truly original collection. We’re excited to bring our communities together to celebrate in our hometown of San Francisco, a city that fuels creativity and innovation.”
Since 2019, Gap has been a long-standing community partner of HFR — helping support their mission through industry events, brand collaborations, educational programs, and intentional HBCU investments through HFR's ICON360 program. Together, Gap and HFR’s partnership has fueled a commitment to building a more equitable retail industry.
"Our partnership with Gap has always been about more than fashion; it’s about creating opportunities, breaking barriers, and amplifying the voices of these incredibly talented designers,” said Brandice Daniel, CEO & Founder of Harlem's Fashion Row. “This collaboration is especially meaningful as it represents the evolution of our shared vision to reimagine possibilities for designers of color. Together, we’re not only celebrating creativity but also fostering a legacy of inclusivity and empowerment that will inspire generations to come."
Every one-of-a-kind style in the 16-piece collection draws from the designers’ unique inspirations, blending Gap’s timeless silhouettes with fresh creative twists. Each designer has created two custom shirts and one bespoke hoodie. The assortment merges an array of aesthetics with distinct design perspectives:
