(BPRW) Jessie Trice Community Health System Observes National Health Education Week

(Black PR Wire) October 21-25, 2024, marks National Health Education Week (NHEW). Jessie Trice Community Health System (JTCHS) joins the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE) and other organizations nationwide to raise awareness about the vital role of health education.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), health education is a tool for improving a population’s general health and wellness by promoting knowledge and healthy practices. Health education empowers individuals to make informed decisions that enhance their quality of life.

“Health education is important to build a healthier community,” said Dr. Joycelyn Lawrence, chief medical officer of JTCHS. “At JTCHS, we remain committed to going above and beyond to ensure our community is educated about their health and that our patients receive the information they need to lead healthier outcomes for themselves and their families.”

The Jessie Trice Community Health System, Inc. is one of Miami-Dade County's preeminent federally qualified community health care centers, governed by a remarkably dedicated Board of Directors (51% of which are users of the medical and dental services) and a diverse, incredibly talented, committed family of providers and staff. JTCHS knows and specializes in comprehensive health, offering a myriad of services to improve the health of the community. This includes: dentistry, family medicine, nutrition, HIV/AIDS, behavioral health, transportation, pharmacy, healthy start, obstetric & gynecological care, school-based health, community health promotions, health & wellness center, pediatrics, and ancillary services.
