(BPRW) MIAMI FOUNDATION BRINGS FLAVORS OF THE LOWCOUNTRY SOUTH TO GREYNOLDS PARK

(Black PR Wire) MIAMI, FLORIDA —  The W.I.S.H Foundation, Inc. in partnership with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Gamma Zeta Omega Chapter will host its first ever "LowCountry Southern Boil" on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Greynolds Park in North Miami Beach. Sponsored with support from African BEST Textures and the Jessie Trice Community Health System, the event features a traditional South Carolina Lowcountry Boil, sometimes known as Frogmore Stew, featuring succulent shrimp, sausage, potatoes, corn and other fixings.  

"We are hosting this uniquely southern cultural experience, featuring fine food and festive music, to further enliven the cultural scene in South Florida.  Proceeds from"LowCountry Southern Boil" will help our programs to support women in recovery, youth development and college preparatory programs, as well as efforts around the world to improve opportunities for women and girls,” said H. Leigh Toney, Chairman, W.I.S.H. Foundation Board Chairman. Leigh went on to state that, “this is the Foundation’s 30th Anniversary year and we invite the entire community to join in the celebration and help support our mission of educating, elevating and empowering women, youth and communities.”

Tara Pasteur, President of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Gamma Zeta Omega Chapter, said,  “I’m very grateful to our event sponsors African BEST Textures and the Jessie Trice Community Health System.  It is through the support of partners like them that we are able to host this great event for our community. Pasteur went on to say, “We couldn’t do what we have been able to do for so long without being good partners and having good partners.”

In addition to the cultural cuisine, a full day of music, entertainment and special presentations will round out this “family reunion” style event.  Tickets are on sale now. General admission tickets are $50 and a limited number of VIP tickets are available for $75 and can be purchased at https://www.wishlcsb.eventbrite.com or via CashApp at $WishFoundation. VIP Tickets include preferred seating, food service, and two drinks.
