(BPRW) NAACP TO PARTICIPATE IN WOMEN’S MARCH TO EMPOWER AND UPLIFT BLACK WOMEN VOICES

(Black PR Wire) BALTIMORE –NAACP is proud to support the Women’s March and uplift the voices of all black women, and as such, Spelman NAACP Chapter President, Amari Fennoy, will speak at the Women’s March in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, January 19. Fennoy will be speaking to ensure that the voice of black women is heard at the march. It is vital that the black woman’s agenda is included on the agenda for women’s rights.

In addition to Fennoy’s remarks, the NAACP Youth and College Division will be actively participating on Saturday as buses with over 100 youth members will be coming in from neighboring states.

During her speech, Fennoy will highlight the following points:

“We must acknowledge the voices of black women in this fight. When we talk about legislative issues and issues women face, i.e. healthcare, the economy, education, national security, and criminal justice reform, we must include the intersections of black women.

This is only the beginning. We have a record number of women in this Congress, more women were elected than any point in US history, but our work is not done. Women still have to go back to the field and organize locally and actively fight for equality.”

Women’s rights are civil rights and the NAACP is committed to empowering women by creating an environment of equity in which all women can exercise their human and civil rights.
