(Black PR Wire) The Califa Arts Chapter of The Society, Incorporated Supporting the Arts proudly announces the debut of Canvas and Community: A Spring Art Affair, a vibrant and immersive celebration of youth artistry, cultural expression, and community engagement. This inaugural event will take place on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the historic Wilfandel Club House, located at 3425 W. Adams Blvd. in Los Angeles.
Bringing together creativity and connection in a dynamic setting, Canvas and Community showcases the visionary work of two powerful Los Angeles-based artists: Skyler Grey, the internationally acclaimed young artist whose bold, urban style has gained global recognition, and Kelly Vallas, a rising contemporary artist known for his vivid storytelling through mixed media that continues to captivate collectors and community audiences alike.
Their work will be presented alongside curated pieces from emerging youth artists at Inner-City Arts, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering creativity, confidence, and collaboration in young people through meaningful artistic engagement.
Hosted by the Califa Arts Chapter, this unique, free-flowing event invites guests to experience a dynamic afternoon of creativity and community. Attendees will explore the indoor gallery of the Wilfandel Club, featuring powerful visual works, then transition into the outdoor garden for refreshments, live music, and interactive programming. The afternoon will include youth band performances, a curated DJ set, and a closing mindfulness and art session facilitated by Art Active, Inc., an organization committed to making creative wellness practices accessible to students across Los Angeles.
As one of Los Angeles’ most enduring landmarks of Black excellence and community empowerment, the Wilfandel Club House provides the ideal setting for this celebration of artistic expression, cultural legacy, and youth potential. By welcoming students, families, educators, and supporters into this historically and culturally rich space, Canvas and Community honors the legacy of creativity while nurturing the next generation of cultural leaders.
