(BPRW) No R'n'B.. No Dancehall .. No Hip Hop allowed at Festival.

Why Soca Wkndr is refusing to compromise on Soca Culture

(Black PR Wire) Soca Wkndr Draws a Clear Line With One Hundred Percent Soca Only Music Policy

Soca Wkndr is making its position clear and unapologetic. Effective immediately, all Soca Wkndr events will operate under a one hundred percent soca only music policy.

The announcement comes at a time when debates around genre dilution at soca events continue to divide audiences globally. While conversations around including Dancehall and RnB at soca events rage on across social media and nightlife spaces,

Soca Wkndr has chosen to take a firm and focused stand in support of the soca community.

“We want to make sure that the Soca Community hear what they came for,” said a spokesperson for Soca Wkndr. “We are not confused about what we represent. Our audience comes to hear soca and our responsibility is to protect that experience.”

At its core, Soca Wkndr exists for the soca lovers. The purists. The people who travel, plan and invest in experiences specifically to feel the music that represents their culture, energy and identity. This policy is not about exclusion. It is about intention.

“Our main focus is to make sure you as an attendee have the best time we can provide,” the spokesperson added. “That means delivering exactly what we promise and not diluting the experience once you walk through the gate.”

From now on, attendees can expect one hundred percent soca, Dennery and Bouyon across all core Soca Wkndr events. Requests for Dancehall or other genres will not be entertained.

Other music styles will only be permitted where a clearly defined and separate event is created that explicitly dictates a different music policy. Outside of that context, the gate is firmly closed.

This policy also applies to all contracted DJs. Adherence to the music policy is mandatory. While there are many platforms and events that welcome wider musical selections, Soca Wkndr is not positioning itself as one of them.

The decision comes despite ongoing industry pressure to broaden music programming in order to appeal to wider audiences. Soca Wkndr views this move as a cultural responsibility rather than a commercial one, choosing long term trust over short term trends.

Year on year growth and high return rates among attendees indicate strong demand for soca focused experiences that do not rely on genre crossover. The continued expansion of the brand suggests that clarity, focus and cultural respect are resonating with its audience.

Not every brand has the stomach to put its foot down. Some fear losing a portion of the crowd. Soca Wkndr believes authenticity builds loyalty and strong boundaries build stronger communities.

If you call yourself a soca lover, why have you not experienced a weekend built entirely around the music you claim to love.

Why ask for compromise when this space exists solely for you. Why attend diluted experiences when the culture deserves commitment

Soca Wkndr is not trying to be everything for everyone. It is choosing to stand firmly for soca.
