(BPRW) Salute THEM Awards ‘My HBCU Joy’ Edition Brings To A Close National HBCU Week Sunday, September 12, 2021, on BNC at 10:00 p.m. ET

Nationally syndicated show pays tribute to the Unique Culture and Contributions of Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs)

(Black PR Wire) HBCUs have shaped the growth, development and culture of America. That is the theme for the third installment of the critically acclaimed Salute THEM Awards (STA) series with Salute THEM Awards ‘My HBCU Joy.’ The multi-platform broadcast follows National HBCU Week, September 7-10, 2021.

The inaugural Salute THEM Awards ‘My HBCU Joy’ edition will include vignettes that tell the story of honorees’ and the impact of their institution on their accomplishments. An array of unique tribute performances are scheduled from Award-winning artist, actress and entrepreneur Kierra Sheard-Kelly, singer/songwriter Kevin Ross, two-time Stellar Award-nominated Howard Gospel Choir of Howard University and the sounds of Southern University “Human Jukebox” Marching Band. The event is presented by Toyota America, AARP and the Café Mocha Network.

Leading the tributes for Salute THEM Awards ‘My HBCU Joy’ will be Café Mocha’s Emmy and two-time NAACP Image award-winning co-host Loni Love, a graduate of Prairie View A&M University, an HBCU. Joining Love be her Café Mocha co-hosts Yo-Yo and Angelique Perrin who attended North Carolina A&T University.

Salute THEM Awards ‘My HBCU Joy’ will highlight the HBCU radio stations that were instrumental in launching the Café Mocha show over ten years ago that today broadcasts in 40 markets that includes Top 10 markets.

Current students and alumni of HBCUs can show school pride by joining the #myHBCUjoy social campaign for a chance to be featured during Salute THEM Awards broadcast.

The Salute THEM Awards produced by Miles Ahead Broadcasting is the third in an annual series of ‘saluting our culture’ awards that honors the contributions of Black excellence on today’s American culture.
