(BPRW) THRIVIN ONLINE presents Black History Month Inspirations

(Black PR Wire) Miami- In a culture obsessed with measuring talent and ability, we often overlook the important role of inspiration. Inspiration awakens us to new possibilities by allowing us to transcend our ordinary experiences and limitations. Throughout our past time, there are people in history and in our own lives that have propelled us to accomplish many amazing things. For Black History Month, THRIVIN ONLINE visited the only HBCU in South Florida, Florida Memorial University (FMU) to ask some prominent people who inspired them.

During FMU’s wonderful ‘Mindful Media’ event, Black PR Wire’s Thrivin Online ran into JAWAN STRADAR, Chetachi A. Egwu, and The Hungry Man himself Starex Smith, influencers in the community that spoke to Black PR Wire about their inspirations for Black History Month.

Jawan Strader is an Emmy award-winning journalist and one of South Florida’s most recognizable news figures. Strader co-anchors NBC 6 news, weeknights at 5, 6 and 11 p.m. with Jackie Nespral. And he’s also host of Voices with Jawan Strader, a community affairs show dedicated to the black community and the disenfranchised. He is not only a professional, but an inspiration himself to everyone he comes in contact with.

Chetachi A. Egwu is a Nigerian American media/communication professor, writer/producer, journalist, filmmaker, dancer/choreographer, artist and actor. Her knowledge and charisma puts her over the top of all others in the business. Her work has been featured in academic journals, newspapers and online publications such as The Grio and she is a contributor/media producer for The Burton Wire. Her creative work, however, reaches beyond writing.

Starex Smith is an accomplished and experienced public administrator, fundraiser, foodie, and culinary business developer who has committed himself to maximizing the Black experience in the United States! He currently serves as Vice President of Strategy and Development for Black Tech Week with over twelve (12) years of experience in managing public/private partnerships, large scale events, and nonprofits. He has successfully raised over 20 million dollars in funding for various governmental entities, food companies, and individuals.
