Siza Mzimela is the founder and Executive Chairperson of Blue Crane Aviation and founder and Chief Executive Officer of Fly Blue Crane. In 2015, Mzimela made history by becoming the first black woman to launch an airline.
Before launching her own airline, Mzimela served as Chief Executive Officer of the biggest airline in Africa, SAA. Under her leadership, SAA was able to introduce direct services to New York and Beijing, China, a first in the history of the airline. The airline also grew its regional network by adding eight additional routes in one year. She was appointed as the first female to join the Board of Directors of International Air Transport Association's in 67 years.
On September 1, 2015, Mzimela made history by launching Fly Blue Crane, an airline that offers customers a much needed alternative air travel option to various business and leisure destinations within the Southern African region.
Mzimela has a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and statistics from the University of Swaziland, and serves as a board member of the South African Tourism Board, as well as the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls.
