Black PR Wire Power Profiler on Pamela Hutchinson
Editor's Note: Pamela Hutchinson, a successful business woman, went home to be with the Lord in November 2007.
Pamela Hutchinson displayed a rare sense of independence and intelligence at a very early age. So, it's no surprise that she became so successful in her life and career.
Pam received her secondary education through the Louisville and Jefferson County Public School Systems. She graduated from Marion C. Moore High School as an honor student in 1980. While at Moore, she quickly became a student leader and was selected by her peers as the first black "Calendar Cover Girl" in the school's history. She was a member of the National Honor Society, dance team and many other school organizations. After graduation, Pam attended the University of Louisville and received her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. She later received her Masters of Business Administration and Finance degree from Bellarmine University.
A stellar achiever, Pam had many personal and professional accomplishments. Among those she cherished most was that at age 12, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at Stoner Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church. While at Stoner, she shared her God given talents by singing in the youth and young adult choirs, working with the youth group and in the Sunday School. Pam loved the Lord and was not ashamed to share her love of God with others.
Of all her accomplishments Pam enjoyed being a wife and mother best. Pam took great pride in her family and did everything in her power to create a home life that reflected the morals and values she and her husband Jerome shared.
In her professional life, she served as Vice President in Private Banking at National City Bank. Pam earned this position after working her way through the ranks from bank teller, bank branch manager and Executive Director for the Community Development Association. Pam was also one of the founding members of the Louisville Chapter of the Urban Financial Coalition and served as its president. She was also active in the Black Achievers Program.
In 2002, Pam and Jerome relocated to Houston, Texas where Pam worked as Vice President in Private Banking for Southwest Bank of Texas. In 2004, the family relocated to Davie, Florida where Pam wanted to ensure stability of her children before re-entering the work force. While serving as a "stay-at-home mom," she undertook the tremendous task of creating an environment where black professionals across South Florida could network, not just as black professionals, but to build a strong ethnic community. And out of this came the publication, "Who's Who in Black South Florida."
Black PR Wire posthumously salutes Pamela Hutchinson for her remarkable impact in the community.
