Barbara Jacques has always had a keen interest in beauty and skincare products. As a little girl, Barbara often watched her mother put on makeup, she would beg and plea for her mom to let her wear makeup so she could also look glamorous. Since she was not old enough to wear makeup, her mother would try to appease her by allowing Barbara to wear just a bit of eye shadow on Sundays to go to church.

Growing up in Florida in a Caribbean home, she remembers learning about herbs and the use of natural ingredients as a part of everyday life. Early on, Barbara developed a love for handmade natural beauty products; this passion continued to grow over the years. A self proclaimed herbal and beauty guru, Barbara recalls giving advice to college friends, family, and even random strangers regarding how to care for their hair and skin.

When Barbara and her husband, James, were expecting their first child, she became aware of the moisture stripping and carcinogenic ingredients in many of the skincare products on the market. This knowledge fueled her research as she was determined not to use those harmful agents on her unborn child’s skin. She very soon began experimenting with making her own natural, organic products. Shortly thereafter, her hobby of making homemade hair and skin products, coupled with years of experience using herbs, led to Barbara starting a line of bath and body care products.

Jacq’s Organics, an organic, natural hand-crafted skincare line formulated for happy babies, busy moms, diva’s and tough guys everywhere; all of the products are made with non-toxic, safe and skin nourishing ingredients that are free of parabens, silicones and preservatives. Each product is designed to be multi-tasking, simple and moisturizing.

Barbara Jacques was born and raised in Miami, Florida; attended the University of South Florida where she earned a Bachelors in Arts degree in Communications. With an uncanny drive to help and aide those in need, she has worked in Development at a well known national not -for-profit and community based organization. Barbara resides in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with her husband and daughter, James and Arianna. She enjoys all things beauty, volunteering, cooking, running, yoga, traveling, entrepreneurial conversations and entertaining family and friends.
