A new year is here! On behalf of the Black PR Wire team, we wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous new year. Just about everyone made resolutions that we vowed to stick to this year: think more creatively, learn a new skill, lose weight, spend more time with family and friends … the list goes on and on. It’s important that we keep and stick to our resolutions, as it builds character, diligence, and determination traits.
This Holiday season, African Americans throughout the nation … Will gather together in celebration; To reverence the birth of Jesus Christ; And rejoice for the day we were given eternal life. We will rush to fulfill all of our shopping needs; And go out of our way to do good deeds.
We all know that giving is a part of living. Each year, everyone looks forward to Thanksgiving Day to give thanks for the many blessings that they have received throughout the year. Thanksgiving is a time for family gatherings and stuffing our bellies with turkeys, stuffing, and homemade pumpkin or potato pie.
Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God’s children. It would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the matter.”
- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. 1963, “I Have a Dream...” speech
This powerful message from Dr. King will forever resound true. The Congressional Black Caucus is doing everything in their power to hold steadfast to this mantra and ignite the community to make it happen. On September 12-16th, the Congressional Black Caucus will host its 48th Annual Legislative Conference at the Walter E. Washington Conference Center in Washington, D.C. This year’s theme is fittingly The Dream Still Demands Courage, Resilience, Leadership, and Legislation.
